The Thin Blue Line (1988)

Directed by Errol Morris

Errol Morris's unique documentary dramatically re-enacts the crime scene and investigation of a police officer's murder in Dallas.

A reminder that 'non-fiction' is a literary genre, rather than some way to communicate some underlying 'truth'. Although speaking of authenticity, it felt entirely believable that the male police officers were angrier with their female co-worker for failing to remember the precise make of the car, compared to the man who actually murdered her colleague in front of her.
