The true story of Mamie Till Mobley’s relentless pursuit of justice for her 14 year old son, Emmett Till, who, in 1955, was lynched while visiting his cousins in Mississippi.
It's a shame that such an important story received such a by-the-numbers treatment. I started to turn off when all of the interiors were furnished from the same clichéd 1950s lookbook of domestic brands that seems to pervade most period pieces these days, but what really got to me was one character saying “I can’t look, Mamie,” and Mamie tells her: “We have to.…” — followed by a turn to camera.
