The Mask of Dimitrios(1944)

Dir. Directed by Jean Negulesco

A film that depicts the investigation of a mysterious dead man through a number of flashbacks which increasingly reveal a complex life... dare I utter the words… Citizen Kane?

Not to give too much away, but keep in mind this film was made in 1944, the same year as Laura. Undoubtedly it was a time when many people hoped that people they thought were dead would turn out to still be alive.
