What if European arthouse remade Vertigo and, I guess, The Departed and then added the D/s overtones seemingly obligatory for European productions... and, of course, the Holocaust angle? For me, I was often pulled out of the film's world by Hoss's stumbling physical performance of vulnerability — too mannered and affected. I did enjoy thinking that this is essentially a comedy of remarriage.
