Eight Bridges(2026)

Dir. Directed by James Benning

Seattle International Film Festival 2026: Film #23

Okay, my favourite bridge (and the rest of the theatre too judging by the after-show chatter) was the neo-Venetian Seven Mile Bridge (FL). Worst bridge by far is obviously the Washington Bridge (NJ/NY). Almost cheered when that train left stage right just before the end of the Dubuque-Wisconsin Bridge. And the Astoria-Megler Bridge (OR) looks like a high-school engineering assignment made out of ice lolly sticks perched atop of a couple of mismatched cheese graters. Also smiled at the couple in front of me holding hands throughout - epic date night.
