gaim-lightthink was an IBM ThinkPad keyboard light plugin for the Gaim instant messaging client (now called Pidgin).
Intended as a replacement to audible notifications, it's function was to attract your attention by blinking the keyboard light of an IBM Thinkpad on receipt of an instant message. This is very useful if you are using another application, virtual desktop or computer and you did not want to miss messages whilst simultaneously disliked auditory notifications.
The source code for this application has been lost.
